WatchMeRecord
Quick simultaneous or separate audio recordings on your iPhone and Apple Watch
WatchMeRecord allows you to quickly making audio recordings either using your watch or your phone to start the recording. Recordings can be triggered independently or simultaneously on both devices allowing you to record two events at the same time.
You can discreetly use an Apple Watch as a remote control to start a recording on your iPhone, or equally use your iPhone to start your Apple Watch recording. You can even start them both recording at the same time for two recordings from two separate perspectives.
For instance, your phone could be recording the vocals of your recording session, and your watch could be recording the instrument(s).
Quick-Start
Recording
Starting a recording is simple, and works exactly the same on both the iPhone and the Apple Watch. Simply select your recording source(s) using the toggle under the microphone button, and then tap the big red microphone button to start recording from those sources. See the animation example of starting a recording on both devices at once from the iPhone.
Please be aware that to start recording on the Apple Watch from your iPhone, the Apple Watch application must be open and visible. However, the Apple Watch application can start a recording on your iPhone at any time, even when the application is closed and the iPhone is locked.
Transcription
Recordings are automatically transcribed within the playback screen (simply tap on a recording on the main screen). You can share recordings with transcripts using the share button in the lower right when in the playback screen (Sharing transcriptions requires in-app purchase)
Playback on iPhone
To playback recordings on your iPhone, simply tap them in the list on the main screen. You can rename recordings by tapping on the name within the playback window, delete by tapping the ‘trash’ button in the lower right, and share by tapping the button next to the trash button. To quickly share and delete you can slide across on a recording in the list on the main screen to reveal buttons and you can also delete and share multiple tracks from the main screen using the ‘Edit’ button in the lower left of the screen.
Playback on Apple Watch
You can also access the recordings you have made using your Apple Watch. This includes playback, renaming, and deleting recordings (the recordings are all stored on your iPhone – recordings made on your Apple Watch will be transferred to your iPhone upon completion). To playback on the Apple Watch, scroll down on the Apple Watch display (either using touch, or by turning the digital crown) and tap the ‘Player’ button. This will then load and display all of your recordings stored on your iPhone. Tap a recording to playback the recording on your watch. Force touch (Firm press down on the screen) on the track list to display options to ‘Rename’ and ‘Delete’, tapping one of these options will then switch to the respective mode. After switching mode, simply tap a track to either rename or delete it.

Please be aware that to start recording on the Apple Watch from your iPhone, the Apple Watch application must be open and visible. Web File Transfer (In-App Purchase)
It is possible to start a ‘web server’ on your iPhone to browse, download, and delete recordings you have made. This makes it really simple to transfer recordings from your device to your computer on the same network.
To start the server, simply go to the settings page within the application and tap the toggle. As long as you are connected to Wi-Fi, you will be provided with a URL to browse to on another computer/mobile device. (Please note, the other device MUST be on the same network as your iPhone). Simply type in this URL into a web browser (e.g. Google Chrome or Safari) on the other device and you will be presented with a web page (Example in screenshots below).
From this webpage you can click the icon on the far left to download the recording, playback using the controls on the right, or press the red ‘trash’ button on the far right to delete the track.
Supported Devices
Watch Me Record is only supported on 64 bit devices which support the Apple Watch. You can use the application without an Apple Watch, but for the best experience an Apple Watch is recommended.
